Spelling Bee Winner Gets the Go

I felt so bad for Morgan Brown, North Platte Spelling Bee winner when I read that because of a technical error she would not be able to compete any further. The story goes something like this: Spelling Bee winner gets turned away from National Spelling Bee when her school didn’t understand the NEW spelling bee rules. They had two winners in it but only paid for one, not realizing it wasn’t just a one time for the school instead of per child.

Morgan was crushed, her father even cried, knowing this was the one dream his daughter had and she had made it so far just to get turned away because of a technical error that wasn’t even her fault.

Today though, this sweet little girl was told that she is now going to the National Spelling Bee. It seems the Spelling Bee people are backtracking and allowing this to pass, she had such a tremendous support behind her. She was even on the news. Morgan claims she’ll work even harder now and study, study, study. Way to go Morgan! I hope you come back a winner, course you’ve already done that in my book. Congratulations!
