Kansas City Hit by Storms

Early in the morning hours Kansas City was hit by a group of thunderstorms, one at 2 a.m. will be one that is remembered for a long time. While everyone stated it wasn’t a tornado that struck but high straight winds, either way the damage was big. Homes were lost and actually one is still lost and they haven’t been able to find it. These “strong winds” that struck, hit like a tornado, only hitting certain ones and le aving over 500 without power. This afternoon however the National Weather Service announced that two tornadoes did touch down, one in Gladstone. They registered it at an “EF2″ and it coursed through two blocks. The strange part about where this “tornado” struck was they never heard sirens, yet where we live in Lees Summit they were going off for about 15 minutes.

Damage that was done and recorded so far:

KC- 45 homes, 10 of which were severely damaged and 1 that still can’t be found

Northland-  120 homes, 3 destroyed and 1 that can’t be found.
