Aircraft Plant Tax Deal Gets Stalled
Even after the huge deal about the aircraft plant and everything the tax deal seems to have stalled out at the Senate as some oppose it. Without the tax deal the Aeropsace Plant factory will go somewhere else, taking the possible 1000+ jobs with it. This is something many need here in Kansas with all the recent job cuts.
Sen.Victor Callahan states that the bill will not protect his tax payers and unless it does it will not be passed. “At the end of the day, we have to ensure that our taxpayers are protected and that we’re fully accountable. The current bill does not do that.”
Currently the worry seems to be over the $880million price tag that goes with the making of the plant, just because it could always fail and leave tax payers without jobs and even further in debt. However, if it were to become a success the city would make so much off of each sale. Without much information on all the details it makes it hard to vote. No one knows a payment plan on which Bombardier would pay back the big bill. The jobs or when it would be ready for business. For now the only thing we (the taxpayers) can do is wait and find out what is decided on.
What do you think of it? Do you think we should vote yes or no? Why? I think now that we have lost so many jobs this would be a great thing.
