7th Grader Wins Inaugural Carter G. Woodson Essay Contest
Lena White, may only be in 7th grade but she’s made it a habit to visit the library 3 times a week and read up to 10 books during this time. When she competed in the state essay contest, “Inaugural Carter G. Woodson” for Middle School, she won.
The speech was on “The Mis-Eduacation of the Negro” to which she nailed. She won a laptop, to which she is very happy about.
“It will be a lot easier for me to do homework because I will not need to compete for the one at home with family members.”
Congratulations Lena, I hope you continue to read those books.
