Lee Summit Car Crash

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

Earlier this morning, right before the bell would ring at the Lee Summit High School, there was a car accident. A Honda carrying three teens was going a bit too fast and slammed into the front of a pick up truck turning. The accident took place on 1700 block of Northeast Independence Avenue at Pollard Street.

Three teens were injured in the accident, the 16 year old driver and the two 17-year old passengers. The 18 year old driver of the pick up truck was also rushed to the hospital, all of which had serious injuries. I’ll keep ya updated as I learn more.

Kansas City Airport Closed

Sunday, February 17th, 2008

airplaneDue to all the bad weather and snow being dumped on Kansas City today the KC Airport has been closed down. Or shall I say flights have been delayed, and I’m not meaning just a handful of flights.

It was around 6:30 a.m. when a spokesperson from the Airport explained that they were grounding the planes as they didn’t want any hydroplaning due to the slickness of the runways. About 10 a.m. it was reported that Kansas City had around 4 inches of snow on the ground. No news on when the runways will open back up.

Chocolate Woman Bank Robber

Wednesday, February 13th, 2008

chocolate robber

Late Tuesday evening, a woman walked into a Target store in Olathe and went straight to the Federal bank inside and held them up. She did not use a gun or a knife, instead she used a box of chocolates and flowers. Before you think this as odd that she got away with an undisclosed amount of cash, she told everyone inside that that box of chocolates was actually a bomb. Bank tellers said the box had wires coming from it.

The woman’s description: Height around 5′ 5, between 30-35 years old, shoulder length brown hair, dark blouse, a tan overcoat and of course a box of chocolates and flowers. She carries a shoulder bag and a black fur hat. No news yet if this is the same woman that just tried to rob a bank in Lees Summit, Missouri.

Bank Robber Arrested

Wednesday, February 13th, 2008

Kansas City BloggerJust moments ago police arrested a woman that tried robbing the Union Bank of Lees Summit at 3700 SW Cheddington. No news yet on who she is or why she was robbing the bank. She was caught when a nearby person caught a strange disturbance going on at the bank, they quickly called it in and the police gathered around outside the bank. When the woman ran out, with duffel bag in hand full of cash she was caught. Police have her in custody and I’ll let everyone know more as we hear it.
